Update on Macie: A Journey of Strength and Hope

It’s been a little over a month since Macie began her brave fight against leukemia, and we’re so grateful to share that she’s making strides in her recovery. The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of challenges, but Macie’s strength and resilience continue to shine through.

Battling the Unexpected

Shortly after starting her treatment, Macie encountered an unexpected hurdle: a port infection. This required her original port to be removed and replaced on the opposite side of her chest. The process wasn’t easy, and it meant multiple stays in the hospital, adding to the already heavy burden of her illness.

Watching her go through this was incredibly tough on her family. But in true Macie fashion, she faced it with a spirit that left everyone around her in awe. The new port is now in place, and we’re relieved to report that the infection is healing nicely.

A Positive Turn

Amid these challenges, there’s a bright spot. Macie is responding well to her chemotherapy treatments. Each round brings its own set of side effects, but her doctors are optimistic about the progress she’s making. It’s a long road ahead, but every good report feels like a small victory.

For Macie’s family, life has become a delicate balancing act. Hospital visits, medication schedules, and the emotional toll of watching a child go through something so difficult have reshaped their daily lives.
